Quality of Care Reviewer Scheme

About the Quality of Care Reviewer Scheme

Age Concern Islington is running a scheme for the London Borough of Islington to use trained volunteers to find out what older care home residents and older people who receive care services in their own homes have to say about the quality of care they are receiving. This vital service helps the Council assess whether care homes and domiciliary care services (home care) are meeting required quality standards, and provides a voice for some of the most vulnerable people in our society. If any problems are identified, then the Council can take action to improve the lives of the people affected. So the role of volunteers in finding out what is really going on is a real lifeline to housebound older people.

If you are interested in finding out more then please call 020 7281 6018 and request a Quality of Care Reviewer application pack. Please check with us when the next training sessions for this role will be, which will depend on the need for new Reviewers to be trained.
