Helping Hands

About the Quality of Care Reviewer Scheme

We are always looking for volunteers to join our Helping Hands pool of people are kind enough to help us in a few flexible ways. Helping Hands support two of Age Concern Islington’s projects: Home from Hospital and Access and Inclusion, and we need volunteers who can offer practical support to local older people on an ad hoc basis. Usually the help will be one-off visits or short-term befriending. So we may ask you to accompany someone to an appointment, or to the shops, or to visit them to chat and help make sure they are getting back on their feet after a stay in hospital, or to read some letters for them. Let us know what you are interested in and how you feel you could best help, or whether you are happy to be offered whatever role is needed.

If you are interested, call 020 7281 6018 and request a Helping Hands application pack, and ask when the next Helping Hands information session will be. You can download more information here: Helping Hands role.
